GPS Receivers Work

GPS was invented by two people Ivan Getting and his co-inventor Professor Bradford Parkinson. They designed and engineered first such system for NAVY called NAVSTAR. Initial deployment of the system was to help guide Intercontinental Ballistic Missile to target areas in USSR.

A GPS devices can be a great co-pilot in the car, providing turn-by-turn directions and information on points of interest along the way, but wouldn't it be nice if you could take this navigation aid with you as you explore your new destination on foot? Well, you can with these versatile systems.

As we'll see, the Global Positioning System is vast, expensive and involves a lot of technical ingenuity, but the fundamental concepts at work are quite simple and intuitive.

When people talk about "a GPS," they usually mean a GPS receiver. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is actually a constellation of 27 Earth-orbiting satellite (24 in operation and three extras in case one fails). The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a military navigation system, but soon opened it up to everybody else. My friend use GPS to discover her cheating partner. She just get GPS that her partner uses, download recent trips from memory of the GPS device and plot it on the map. You will see everything you need to see if you doing the same thing. This is how GPS fleet tracking work at your company.

Here im embedded some good video to show how GPS receivers work:-

Vehicle Fleet Tracking

There was a time not too long ago when vehicle security meant an alarm system that wailed an obnoxious noise. If the thief was able to steal the car, then recovery before it had been dissected for its parts was almost impossible. Then, this car safety issues have give opportunity to those who create GPS (Global Positioning System) car tracking system, a car can be tracked on a computer map at a central monitoring station. These systems can also notify the central operator if an airbag deploys.

Even some person argue on widely use of GPS system in their life. With GPS you can track where people drive and how fast and that's great to hang over the head of your teenage driver(s), as a parent. The only other problem with vehicle fleet tracking is environmental. Sometimes you can't get a satellite or adequate satellite coverage so your coordinates are either inaccurate or completely errorneous.

Unfortunately, the technology still needs some further refinement, but with a Trimble fielding unit you can actually get sub-meter and even sub-foot readings on a given position, assuming your satellite cover is good and your offsets are accurately corrected. It depend on which country are you living now, some well developed country alrealy fully applied this vehicle fleet tracking for easily to track vehicle that been steal, got a maintenance problem and other reasonable reason.

For business person, in order to control their inventory movement they realized location-tracking technologies ideal for better managing inventories or fleets of vehicles. Knowing the exact location of each piece of inventory helps to control the supply chain and saves money by not losing those assets that are in transit. Companies, such as retailers, must consider how to track inventory across a wide area, either country or state, and in a smaller area, such as the warehouse or store.
